Day 3 of gratitude

Yesterday was a really tough day for me emotionally. I was confronted with some old negative and false narratives, and I needed to push through them.
I wake up this morning feeling better. Feeling good. Here is my day three of gratitude post.
Early in resetting the relationship I held with myself, I came up with the notion of “cutting out the middle man”.
I remember thinking how much I wanted to find my person so that I could go on an amazing overseas adventure.
A lovely romantic notion. But somewhere in that thought, was the idea that I could only have that experience if I had somebody to share it with.
But why was I making something I wanted, dependent on something outside of my control?
It was here that I began thinking about becoming that person to myself that I wanted other people to be to me.
Maybe I could go on that adventure with myself, and be that loving companion to myself at the same time.
And over time, that idea took hold, and I was able to extend it to other parts of my life.
When I needed encouragement, I could be my own personal cheer squad.
When I needed reminding that there was nothing wrong with me, I could be the person to tell myself just that.
Today, I am grateful that I was able to become that person to myself, that I needed other people to be to me. To become my best friend, a steadfast companion and my biggest fan.
That’s why the work of understanding who I am, what I am and why I am, was - and still is - so important.
Today I love encouraging myself. Telling myself that I am so proud of myself. And constantly reminding myself that there is nothing wrong with me.
I have so much to be grateful for - most especially - the relationship I now hold with myself.
