Killing your inner critic

What I am learning about my life, experiences and success, is my biggest blockers are not external factors - my boss, the economy or my situation - but rather my inner critic.

I have spent years battling my inner critic and claimed victory over it time and time again. But despite this, and the things I now know to be true about myself and my value, it will still always be there.

Which means I need to keep killing it. Each and every day.

It is a ferocious enemy who never backs down. Is always hiding in the dark corners of my life corners and always seeking the opportunity to remind me of its lies. Lies it will tell about what is wrong with me, about how I'm not good enough and how I am not lovable.

Because those are the only words it has to offer. Lies and mis-truths; despair and suffering; misery and pain.

You cannot believe anything your inner critic has say, any commentary it might choose to offer or any perspective it might choose to take on you.

So get to know your inner critic for the liar it truly is. Because once you can do that, you can start to pull it apart. “A trap is no longer a trap, once you have dismantled it”.

And there are ways to do that.

  • Choose to expect good things. For things to shift your way. That the universe is always working in your favor.

  • Be kind and patient with yourself. Be your best friend and celebrate your success.

  • Know that your behaviors, thoughts and beliefs matter. Build frameworks that will drive your success.

  • Become supremely self aware. Learn to recognize when your inner critic is speaking.

For something new to rise, something old must die. So kill your inner critic.

Your mind will believe what you continuously tell it. So tell it you are strong, fearless and unstoppable.

Silence your inner critic, and stop believing its lies. Do this, and you will remove most of the blockers that are stopping you from being the person you want to be.
